Who we are
Long Live Brooklyn is an event produced by Black Veterans for Social Justice (“BVSJ”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect through longlivebrooklyn.com and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: first and last name, email address, veteran status, optional phone number, ZIP code, health goals, event interests, and any notes you write.
- Technical and marketing data: IP address and the approximate city/region derived from it, browser and device information, referring website, pages viewed, and campaign parameters such as UTM tags and advertising click identifiers (for example Meta's fbclid, Google's gclid) and advertising cookies like Meta's _fbp and _fbc.
How we use it
- To register you and plan capacity, food, and screenings.
- To send event updates, reminders, and follow-up resources.
- To measure and improve our advertising, including sharing hashed or pseudonymous identifiers with advertising platforms such as Meta and Google so we can understand which campaigns brought people to the event.
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraudulent or duplicate registrations.
Text messages (SMS)
If you provide a phone number and check the consent box, you agree to receive text messages from BVSJ about Long Live Brooklyn — schedule, check-in details, screening slots, and last-minute changes. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of attending the event. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us run the event and our communications (for example email/SMS delivery, form and spreadsheet storage, and analytics/advertising measurement), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in any message, reply STOP to texts, and request access to or deletion of your information by emailing us. Browser and platform settings let you limit advertising cookies.
